As part of our continued support for Dinton Cricket Club, we attended today to see the running team take part in the Hardwick 'X Stream' cross country running event. Gladly the rain fell by the bucket load yesterday, but today was cold but very sunny, which gave us some great photo opportunities and a chance to try out one of our new lense. Well done guys, great effort.

We received a phone call from a nice gentleman called James Manders explaining himself as a friend of the '146' Coffee bar franchise. He works as a professional guitarist and has played with Mariah Carey, Rihanna and Susan Boyle, teaches about 100 children in schools around the Aylesbury Vale and has released a single called 'Bringing it home', which is doing well in the download charts.

James is looking to update his website and to promote his guitar lessons across further schools and needed promotional images, so Charter Photography met with him and some of his guitar pupils to take images promoting his great technique and the excellent rapport he has with these very talented kids.

James is releasing an album soon and will be looking to Charter Photography to take the album cover. Watch this space!

Charter Photography work with the local pre-school charity to ensure they maintain the fantastic image of a local fun and learning environment and needed a few extra pictures of staff and the setting for the website. It's great fun being in the pre-school with the kids who always ask lots of very interesting questions about the camera, the lighting, and pretty much anything they can think of! Here's a shot of Claire, who is the pre-school leader.

Another hard days work in someone else's office! Today we were at DM Link, a relatively new but already very well established e-marketing company who are always looking for new and enterprising opportunities in the marketplace. It was time to update the website so a few images to personalise and show the team were needed.

What a great end to the year! Last shoot of 2011 was a family shoot in the home of the Turner family, mainly to provide them with lasting images of baby Zane but also of everyone else including the family dogs, Ice and Blaze. Good fun and a nice break from the indulgences of Christmas.

Great session this morning with Alfie and he seemed to have a great time as all kids do when they have a photo shoot with Charter Photography. A young lad who likes his Hot Wheels, his motocross and was absolutely fantastic in front of the camera! Images were captured to allow his big sister to provide surprise Christmas presents to the rest of the family, so we got a good variation of styles and poses for her to choose from. Nice one Alfie and hope to see you next year!

People want their image captured for different reasons, some want it for a family keepsake, some want it to present to a loved one, some want to show their pastime, hobby, career, or maybe a portfolio selection intended for a website or general PR. Danny here wanted some pictures for facebook, so why not!

We captured a range of styles, with Danny looking very formal, we also got him looking a bit 'street', and we took an actors type headshot which is shown here. Great time playing with different lighting styles and a good break from a very 'standard' setup, (if there is ever a standard!).

The local pre-school decided rather than complete a typical school pre-christmas photo shoot for the kiddies, set up a Saturday morning session where each family could come along and enjoy themselves at a quick turnaround set of portrait sessions. We had a great morning and in agreement with the pre-school will be supplying the studio quality finished portraits at a pricing level equivalent to typical school portrait packs. Most said they are to use them for Christmas presents and as money is tight at the moment it's a win/win situation for everyone concerned!

How do you keep a 4 year old from being excited about fireworks night? The answer is you can't!

Max wanted to mark this time of year so under very close supervision we took this shot of a super duper rocket bought from a local fireworks shop.

The proud owner, Usman, after many months of hard work was very pleased to open his doors to the public and realise his dream of serving high-end fine dining indo-asian food in his own contemporary restaurant. We were invited back to further the portfolio of promotional images including some varied shots of key dishes and the fresh ingredients used.

So you get the phone call.... 'do you fancy taking shots of fish nibbling peoples feet?', 'hmmmm sounds interesting?' I said with an air of trepidation, but actually arriving at First Impressions in Aylesbury and meeting with Natalie who runs the fish spa, after having your feet washed you place your feet in lovely warm water and let small fish take all the dead skin from your feet, overall it is a very pleasant experience leaving your feet in really good condition. Would recomend it to anyone!

For a local restaurant soon to open it's doors to the public; whilst in the process of preparing food for guests for a large private dinner Charter Photography was tasked with grabbing shots of the food and the cooking area to build up a portfolio of images for promotion. Dodging fresh dough going in the tandoori oven with hot naan bread coming out, kofta's on the open grill, chicken on the open roaster, all whilst trying to keep out of the way of the chef, it was a real challenge to get the shots, but we got them.

Part two of the shoot will be soon, where we plan to get some very controlled shots of the chef's signature dishes and the restaurant itself, just as it opens.

Hale Leys United FC have become the 3rd highest placed football team in Aylesbury.
Charter Photography provided images to create life size prints of some of their key players which were then placed around Hale Leys Shopping Centre (Aylesbury) to create visual awareness and promotion of their achievement. All the best to Hale Leys United FC for the new season: their inspiration to future footballers through hard work and commitment proves that anything is possible!

146 Coffee, a local chain of coffee bars owned by bothers Nick and Pepe, asked Charter Photography to assist them with updating their advertising and website: an interesting afternoon shoot, swapping between Aylesbury train station and the town centre, resulted in (my opinion) great shots! A sample shot is shown of Ella from the Milton Keynes branch, chosen as the 2011 face of 146 Coffee.

Jo is promoting her personal training business to express her ability to provide not only one-to-one training but also consultancy in sports therapy. She looked to Charter Photography to capture a set of images to present her brand.

As part of Charter Photography's continued support of Hale Leys Shopping Centre, new images were taken to update their website with the addition of new shops and staff. Here is an example image of the Shopping Centre's Manager ('Roger').

A local fitness centre, Pegasus Gym, have been raising awareness of the diversity of classes they offer and wanted profile pictures taken of the instructors and classes, posted on Facebook and their website. Charter Photography were pleased to support them for this shoot, and will be providing ongoing support throughout 2011.

Charter Photography was introduced to 3 week old baby Ciaren who was so well behaved on the day and allowed us to capture some very special moments at the start of this young man's life.

Steve runs Pegasus Gym in Aylesbury and is a student under Mick Zilles, my former kickboxing and martial arts' teacher. I was therefore very excited to be asked to take shots of Steve whilst he was preparing for an upcoming kickboxing bout.

We were asked to provide product shots of some work from a very talented artist who has a passion for alternative model making. These were originally small metal toy cars, and great attention to detail has made them into working models for a mini-wargame called Axle Tribes. Unusual subject to document but interesting work!
